Terms
Terms of use
Last updated: October 1, 2026
The short version: Breez is a reading app you can use free, with Breez Pro for more. Your books and notes are yours. Pay through the store you bought from, cancel any time, and please read the parts below on what Breez can and cannot promise.
Using Breez
You can use Breez without an account. If you create one, keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens with it. You need to be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree for you.
What you read is yours
Books, documents, links and notes you bring into Breez stay yours. Only add things you have the right to read and copy, such as your own files, public-domain books and articles you can open. If you turn on sync, we store your copies only to bring them to your other devices. We never sell or publish them.
Breez Pro
Breez Pro is offered monthly, yearly (with a free trial where shown) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you pay and may differ by country.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. On iPhone, cancel in your Apple ID subscriptions at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trials turn into a paid yearly plan at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Lifetime means every Pro feature, including all future updates and new features, without the subscription, for as long as Breez is offered.
- Allowances. Some Pro features cost us money each time they run, such as reading aids and natural voices. Every plan, lifetime included, comes with the same fair monthly allowances, shown in the app.
- Refunds are handled by the store you paid. For the App Store, ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Purchases made through the App Store are also covered by Apple’s standard licensed application end user license agreement.
Free stays free
Our promise is that the free reader never gets less free. We may add to what is free; we will not take away what free readers already have.
Reading aids and what Breez cannot promise
Reading aids are written by an AI model and can be wrong. Treat them as a helping hand, not a source to cite. Breez helps you focus and take in text one calm word at a time; it does not promise faster reading or better understanding, and reading one word at a time can make some texts harder to follow. It is not a medical or educational treatment.
Fair use
Please do not misuse Breez: no breaking or overloading our servers, getting around limits or payments, reselling access, or using it to break the law or someone else’s rights. We may pause an account that does.
Invites
An invite gives you and a friend a free week of Pro, within the limits shown in the app. Invite rewards have no cash value, and we may refuse ones that are claimed unfairly.
Changes and availability
We keep improving Breez, so features may change. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change applies. Breez is offered as it is; we work to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid for Breez in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law where you live. These terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, USA.
